The MERLOT Chemistry Community
MERLOT Chemistry is a community of people involved in teaching Chemistry and involved in education, in general. Many community members make their professional information available in the MERLOT member directory (Chemistry list). Become a member if you are not already part of MERLOT. Members can add teaching-learning materials, add comments and assignments for learning materials as well as interacting with other members. Membership is free and only minimal information needs to be provided. MERLOT does not share this information beyond this use regarding the MERLOT site.
The Chemistry Editorial Board is responsible for:
- Expansion of the Chemistry collection of Chemistry material
- The development of the Chemistry Community
- The Peer Review of materials according to standards developed in the Chemistry Collection.
The MERLOT peer review process for evaluating learning materials follows the model of peer review of scholarship. Each MERLOT peer review is conducted by at least two higher education faculty members who, from their individual reviews, compose a "composite review" that is posted to the MERLOT website.
